HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!

Today is Alex's birthday.

He turned fifteen.

Most people don't know this, but we are actually twins. Telepathy and all. No joke. So it's cool most of the time when he's around. You know, when he's not doing the Hoedown Throwdown or singing badly.

This year, he collected all his CNY money and put it in the fund he's working to raise for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

As much as he acts like a total tard most of the time, he's a good kid.

There isn't anyone I'd rather call my twin brother.

:)

This is the part where I post a picture of him.

You'd think that this is a picture from a while back, but no.

I took that last week.

hah.

kid.

A happy birthday to you, Alex.
I'm proud of the person you are and who you are becoming.

Always,

me.

the metaphor game: chair edition

Hey there, blog.

I've had a mad day. It was great though. I'm super exhausted.

If you're observant, you'll notice that I missed the 4th March on my blogroll. Now, this is not entirely true because I have yet to sleep today.
TECHNICALLY, it is the fifth already, but because I haven't slept since the third, I don't consider this the fifth yet.

Lunch at delicious with most of the Motley Crew. Lunch with these people is dangerous, man. Because, right, you set out to eat with a budget and certain amount in mind and you end up blowing it just because everyone at the bloody table is an enabler.

My lunch was supposed to be light and full of vegetables.

It ended in pavlova.

Can anybody say fail?

Heh.

Anyway, we had a brilliantly long conversation about the kinds of chairs we were. Don't give me a weird look yet, let me explain. You know how those weird internet quizzes ask you questions about yourself and then come to the conclusion that you are a certain object or what not?
It was like one of those. Minus the quiz and internet part.

I'd like to call it the metaphor game.

I have yet to tell any one of them this. OH WELL. What a shame they are missing out on this fun.

We also went around the table trying to decide what OTHER name would suit our faces. I think we spent the most time on Cheryl, who ended up being a Dianna.
Sna got Jasmine, Jit got Daniel, Pan got Sally/Tiffany and I got Michelle.

Funny story is that whenever someone forgets my name and calls me something else, it is Michelle. This has happened more than one time and I cannot explain why.
It just does.

Tonight, Cheryl, Dickie, Sna and I went on an adventure to KLpac. Of course, we got lost in the rain in the middle of traffic. OF COURSE. But by the time we figured it out and got there, we had plenty of time to lounge and drink coffee like the posh people we are.

Actually, we mostly chugged it like barbarians.

YUM.

We went to watch Bernarda Alba which is on till this Sunday the 7th March.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

Please, if you get the chance, do go and give it a watch. It was surprisingly mind blowingly awesome. Really really good stuff.

Getting home real late sealed my fate today which is why I am still awake at this hour.
Because I haven't been home these past two days, I haven't seen either of my brothers. I saw Alex briefly yesterday, but that's about it. I haven't seen Adam at all.
Yeah. Anyway. My plan is to stay up until sixish so that I can wish Alex a happy birthday. Then, I am going to sleep and not waking up till I absolutely have to at noon.

Yes, that is the plan.

Okay.

I am tired.

GOODNIGHT.

--

P.S. I like y'all and all, right. But I don't have the attention span or focus to colour this now. I'll do it when I wake up later.

Bai.

The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference.

of course it's nice hearing your voice everyday

When I wake up after a nap, I squeeze my eyes shut real tight before turning to my side.

That's because a small part of me hopes that when I open them, you'll be there.

--

I magic swept the whole house just now.

As I did, I began thinking about something. Now, I have talked about this before but not here. It's not that I was hiding it from you guys, just that the situation never arose.

I have a fear of incompetence.

If you know me, you'll know that there are plenty of things I can do. It's not because I'm particularly talented in everything I attempt, but I make enough effort to make sure that I can DO whatever it is relatively well by the end of it. For example, fixing stuff, sewing, other chores. Boring stuff.

But useful stuff.

I've noticed that these things don't really interest me. I know how to do them because I need to know how to do them so I'm not useless.

I'm afraid of being useless.

Cheryl and I rushed like lunatics for our early consults this morning.

Our lecturer is on MC.

*sigh*

On a happier note, when I was talking to Sna yesterday, this happened:

Amanda Shiew: okay enough
Amanda Shiew: i am confused
Husna Qureshi: LOL
Husna Qureshi: i don't see why
Amanda Shiew: Your face
Husna Qureshi: MY FACE
Husna Qureshi: is worshipped by remote african tribes
Amanda Shiew: OMG
Amanda Shiew: *dead*
Amanda Shiew: that is so hilarious i cannot breathe
Amanda Shiew: bai sna
Amanda Shiew: i'm dying
Husna Qureshi: haha
Husna Qureshi: don't get too exited
Husna Qureshi: and please don't die
Husna Qureshi: that would be bad

You can't make this stuff up, man. :)

I'll see you tomorrow.

:)

amanda coffeepants

as hard as you hit, you won't be able to change anything.

--

I spilled coffee on my pants this morning at breakfast because I am so unbelievably coordinated that I feel I have to prove myself.
I lifted the cup to make sure I wouldn't drip any on myself while I sipped ('sipped' because I am proper) and while I did that, I spilled all over my new shorts. SIGHSIGHSIGH.

As is my life.

School today was a real drag.

I also did a lot of walking. Walking isn't the problem. Walking in shoes that want to dig holes in your feet - THAT'S the problem.
Don't get me wrong. My sneakers have never failed me before. They must be having an off season. They ARE getting old.

Maybe I need new shoes.

Maybe.

I have the sniffles. This is not good. NOT GOOD.

VEI SHAUN I THINK TO BLAME YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON I KNOW AT THE MOMENT WHO HAS A WHALE IN THEIR NOSE.

If I get sick, I am going to come after you and impale you with a large sharp object just because I cannot afford to be sick and this is your fault.
Am I being rational about this at all?

No.

Do I particularly care?

NO.

Wow, I get testy when I am unwell. Haha. Testy.
I'M KIDDING SHAUN, I DON'T HATE YOU.
yet.

Oh wow, I'm hungry. Steak? Mmmm, steak. That sounds good. Steak.

BUT WE DON'T HAVE STEAK BECAUSE THE WORLD IS AGAINST ME TODAY.

*sigh*

We never have steak.

In other news, I don't know why I go to school on Tuesdays. We never seem to do anything that is particularly important on Tuesdays. Why don't they give us Tuesdays off?
That would be swell.
Maybe they just don't wanna be swell.
I wouldn't wanna be swell.

It sounds too much like 'swollen' to be cool.

Nothing can be cool while swollen.

Except maybe badgers. Yeah. Swollen badgers would be really cool. :)

I have a doodle itch as well as one to write a song. But alas, I have work to do tonight and I'm already pushing it by writing this completely nonsensical post.
This is the accumulation of all the nonsense I have neglected to include in the last posts.

Sorry.

I suppose it would be too late to tell you to stop reading here, huh?

Whoops.

How unfortunate.

HAHA.

*sadist*

In all seriousness, though. Hope you guys are having a better week than Amanda Coffeepants. She's a nard. Don't be like her.

:)
